Saulo Duarte enters the Top 20 of World Music Charts Europe (WMCE) in March

World Music Charts Europe (WMCE) announced the selection of albums for the month of March, and there is a Brazilian artist in the list: Saulo Duarte, with song “Avante delírio”. The album was released recently in Europe by the renowned label Sterns Music. WMCE is a top 20 ranking compiled by European broadcasters created in 1991 during the EBU World Music Workshop.

With the great repercussion of his single in Europe, Saulo Duarte talked to journalist Eric Delhaye, from culture portal France Inter, and his work got a positive review by Patrick Labesse from French newspaper Le Monde: “After three albums with his group, A Unidade, collaborations as a violinist with Céu, Russo Passapusso and Curumin, Duarte offers an exciting music blending with brass instruments, synthesizers, percussion and clarinet. Being at the same time the songwriter and composer of almost all songs, he claims for the right to delirium (Avante Delirio) and to the illusion of freedom. His ideas and humor that explode at every melody deviation remind us of the noisy spirit of Mestre Ambrósio or Tom Zé.”

Saulo Duarte is one of the artists of YB Music and Pitanga Cultural, which actively participate in the actions promoted by Brasil Music Exchange (BME), a Brazilian music internalization project carried out through a partnership between Brasil, Música & Artes (BM&A) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).

ABOUT WMCE
The EBU (European Broadcasting Union) works as a kind of “umbrella” of public radio stations in Europe. WMCE has become an important tool for musicians, record labels as well as for radio broadcasters and producers, as it serves as an airplay instead of a sales table, which is an advantage for musicians who are not hired by big record companies.
