Midem generates USD 600,000 in expected trades for Brazilians
A group of 21 Brazilian companies was in Cannes, France, in June 4-7, to participate in Midem 2019, and an amount of USD 600,000 in expected trades was generated in the event by means of contacts with labels, publishers, distributors and other companies operating in the music market worldwide. The presence of Brazilian companies was headed by Brasil Music Exchange (BME), a Brazilian music fostering project carried out by means of a partnership between Brasil, Música & Artes (BM&A) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
The delegation had at its disposal a collective stand, and among the activities developed were actions for the support and relationship with participants, happy hours and business rounds. The agenda of Midem included the presence of representatives of several business models and music segments in all the actions, as well as speeches by highly influent Brazilian women from the music market discussing the current scenario of the sector in the country.
According to Leandro Ribeiro, BME Project Manager, Midem is always a great opportunity for companies operating in foreign countries and artists intending to build a career abroad– or giving the first steps in such sense – because the event offers high-quality information by means of its meetings and panels. “The results of the 52nd edition were highly satisfactory and I believe it reflects the increasingly dynamic movement in the Brazilian music market. The national delegation kept a high average of expected deals for the next months, showing the increasing valorization of our music industry overseas”, he says.
Brazilian companies that were present at Midem 2019: Agência Milk, Belic Arte.Cultura Brazil, Cada Instante Produtora e Gravadora, Casa de Abelha Cultural, CLAV Music Business Intelligence, Dubas Música, Favela Sounds – Slums’ Culture International Festival, GRV Music Media e Entertainment, HeadSail Music, Iduna Produções, IMúsica, Irmãos Vitale, Joe Silhueta, Rodrigo Bezerra, Sema Pensa e Faz, Selo Sesc, Souto Correa, Spottlight / Musics Net, Tropical Connexion – Diferente Arte, Unlimited Music Produções Artísticas e Edições Musicais and Villa-Lobos Produções.
