Liniker e os Caramelows returns to Colombia with the ‘Goela Abaixo’ tour
Last Friday (13), Liniker e os Caramelows played the album ‘Goela Abaixo’ at the classic Teatro Colsubsidio, in Bogotá, Colombia. The performance had the support from Brasil Music Exchange (BME), a Brazilian music fostering project carried out by means of a partnership between Brasil, Música & Artes (BM&A) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
This was the third time the Brazilian band took to Colombia its music that combines samba and soul, rock and funk. Liniker is known for being not only a musician but also an artist involved in arts and politics, and her lyrics talk about principles and inclusiveness.
The album ‘Goela Abaixo’ was released on March 22, 2019 and since then Liniker e os Caramelows has been traveling around the world, including performances at the New York Botanical Garden, the Glastonbury Festival (UK) and the Womad, one of the largest music festivals in the United Kingdom. In the end of October, the band is going to Norway to promote its album.
To Leandro Ribeiro, BME Manager, supporting Brazilian musicians in international shows is important. “It is crucial for the promotion of the Brazilian music market and its artists. The immersion in such universe is always great in terms of money and image”, he explains. The manager also adds: “It’s a win-win scenario: it’s good for the artist and also for the Brazilian music as a whole”.
