As head of innovation of Skol Beats, Anitta launches the first product inspired by Brazilian funk

Brazilian singer Anitta has just announced the first product resulting from her partnership with Ambev – a company accounting for 68% of the beer market in Brazil –, Skol Beats 150 BPM. The Brazilian funk was the inspiration for such beverage.

The artist, who, this year, became head of innovation and creativity for the brand targeting young people, revealed the product in her Instagram account. Anitta has 42.7 million followers on that social media.

The new beer has an alcohol content of almost 14% and is the first Skol Beats product supplied in a 100-mL container. To Anitta, Skol Beats 150 BPM combines some of her greatest interests: party, funk and Beats.
The innovation team led by the singer expects to launch a signature product every year. The beer is already in the market in some Brazilian States, such as São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia.

The Brazilian singer, song writer, actress, host and producer was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro, cradle of Brazilian funk. Anitta started her career in funk, but soon she embraced other music rhythms: Brazilian country music, pop, reggaeton and electronic.

In 2010, after she posted a video on YouTube, Renato Azevedo, producer at independent record label Furacão 2000 at that time, invited her to be part of the team and she signed an agreement with such label. In 2012, her song “Meiga e Abusada” was a huge hit, so in the next year she signed with record label Warner Music Brasil.

In 2017, Anitta was the only Brazilian artist on the Billboard Social 50, an American ranking of artists’ popularity on social media. She was included in such list because of her hit “Vai Malandra”, whose music video had the participation of MC Zaac, Maejor, Tropkillaz and DJ Yuri Martins.

Last October, the song “Fuego” climbed one position on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Last month, the single, a collaborative work of DJ Snake, Anitta, Sean Paul and Tainy, was in the 31st position.
