Brazilian singer Natália Matos announces new album with the single “Tempo Lento”
After her first two records, which were acclaimed by the specialized critics, the Brazilian singer Natália Matos has been working on her third studio album. To give a foretaste of what is to come, she has just released the single “Tempo Lento”.
Her new album, expected to be released still this year, shows the musician’s development as a singer, song writer and live performer. According to the artist, the record will bring a new aesthetics of arrangements fusing pop and Latin music, genres that were already present in her former works, all of these presented as diversified compositions. Award-winning producer Alexandre Kassin, who has worked with Brazilian artists such as Caetano Veloso, Los Hermanos and Vanessa da Mata, is in charge of the production of Natália’s new album.
The song “Tempo Lento” was composed in Alter do Chão, a paradise city in the State of Pará, in the North region of Brazil. Natália describes the area as “magical, one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen”, and states that the location had a significant impact on her creativity. “Releasing this song now, during the quarantine period, is a way, for me, to reconnect with that moment, which was a slow-passing time. The song takes us to a place of solitude, contemplation and slowdown, which just fits the moment we are living now. More than ever, we have to slow down, think about humanity and reconnect with ourselves”, she completes.
The single released by record label YB has Alexandre Kassin on bass and guitar, Danilo Andrade on keyboard and Thomas Harres on drums.
