Hermeto Pascoal’s show cheers audience of Brazilians and Russians in Moscow
After the 2-0 win over Mexico in the afternoon of yesterday, the Brazilians presented another show in Russia. But this time, the field gave place to the stage: the multi-instrumentalist and composer Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo performed at the Powerhouse Moscow for an attentive and excited audience of about 300 people, including many Russian fans.
The presentation is part of the Brasil Music Club project in Russia, which brings the country’s capital a diversified lineup, representing Brazilian production with rhythms such as samba, jazz and carimbó. The project is carried out by Brasil, Música & Artes (BM&A) in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and the Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (Apex-Brasil) through the Brasil Music Exchange (BME) program.
Extremely excited, Hermeto took a time to answer the many requests for photos and give interviews to local influencers. “It’s the first time I play live in Russia, but I’ve certainly been here many times in other ways”, joked the musician, who debuted in the country. “I would like to thank everyone who made this moment possible”, he added.
The audience watched closely every interaction of the artist and his band with the different musical instruments, many of which created by him, including bottles and cooking utensils. “The show was impressive, the way they improvise and the amount of instruments they play is incredible”, comments NNW radio broadcaster Arthur Kuzmin, excited about the possibility of releasing Brazilian music in his broadcasts.
