Brasil Music Exchange participates in the creative economy event MicBR
The Ministry of Culture (MinC) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) promote the first edition of the Creative Industries Market of Brazil (MicBR) in the city of São Paulo. The event will take place from November 5 th to 11 th in the cultural corridor of Paulista Avenue, with the objective of boosting the internationalization of Brazilian cultural production and exchanges among countries, especially in South America, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.
Brasil, Música & Artes (BM&A) is one of the partners of the event. Among the activities developed by the entity are the selection of international guests and the training of entrepreneurs, as well as the curatorship of the artists that are part of the lineup of shows. “Apex-Brasil has selected entrepreneurs who will be face to face with near 60 international buyers from 30 countries to leverage the international trade in the creative economy sector in some business rounds”, said Leandro Ribeiro, project manager at BM&A.
During the event, the professional will participate in two lectures: “90 minutes with Apex-Brazil and its sectorial products” and “Opportunities for Music and Circulation of artists in the Ibero-American market”. The first takes place on the 6 th and the second on the 7 th, both at 2:00 p.m. at Itaú Cultural.
Throughout the seven days, the daily participation of 2 thousand people in the market activities and of 3 thousand in the cultural
programming is expected. These numbers should jump to up to 30 thousand people during the weekend that closes the event, on November 10 and 11, at the different attractions spread throughout cultural centers of Paulista Avenue.
The mega event gathers around 500 companies and approximately 100 international buyers. In the agenda, besides the business roundtables and lectures, networking opportunities, product and services pitching opportunities and entrepreneurship training activities, including workshops and mentoring clinics, are planned. Artistic-commercial presentations (showcases) of music, performing arts, fashion, and gastronomy are also part of the agenda. MICBR is expected to move over USD 10 million in business.
Event comprises ten sectors
Micbr borns inspired by successful experiences in other countries, such as the Argentine Creative Industries Market (MICA) and the Market of Cultural Industries of the South (MICSUL). The Brazilian event covers ten sectors of the creative economy: performing arts (circus, dance, and theater), audiovisual (cinema, TV, advertising, and new media), animation and electronic games, design, fashion, publishing, music, museums and heritage, gastronomy, and visual arts.
