Ava Rocha to perform at GlobalFEST 2018
The Brazilian-Colombian singer, composer, and filmmaker Ava Rocha lands next week in New York, in the United States, to participate at GlobalFEST on January 14. Named one of the best artists of 2015 by the New York Times, Ava also already has an international following thanks to her participation in festivals in Berlin, Mexico City, Bogota, New York, and many others. The artist is part of the Brasil Music Exchange (BME), a project of exporting Brazilian music made through a partnership between Brasil, Música & Artes (BM&A) and the Agência Brasileira de Promoção de Exportações e Investimentos (Apex-Brasil).
Recreating the classic Tropicalia style mixed with punk rock, psychedelic and a pop touch, the artist received several awards as a result the work she did on her records “Diurno” (2011) and “Ava Patrya Yndia Yracema” (2015), and is hoping to release her third album in 2018.
About the festival
GlobalFEST happens every year in January at Times Square in New York City. The festival brings together more than 1,500 professional from the music industry, members of the press, and fans. In 2018, the event will include 12 presentations from a variety of artists from all over the globe. Attractions are divided among three stages: BB King Blues Club, Lucille’s, and Liberty Theater.
