Anitta is on the Best Songs of 2019 list of Time magazine
Last Friday (24), Anitta had another achievement in her international career. Time magazine disclosed its list of the 10 best songs of 2019 so far, including tracks released from January to May of this year, and “Rosa”, a collaborative work of the singer from Rio de Janeiro with American artist Prince Royce, was one of the picked songs.
The magazine describes Anitta as “Brazil’s biggest pop star” and “a trilingual artist capable of changing from Brazil’s hard-charging baile funk to tender bossa nova”, congratulating her on the good use of her seductive voice to “place traditional Latin rhythms in a fresh contemporary context”. Also, the artist impressed the critics by singing in “expressive Spanish that doesn’t need translations”.
The new hit is part of the album “Kisses”, the work released by Anitta last April including the participation of Snoop Dogg, Swae Lee and Caetano Veloso, among others, with songs in Portuguese, Spanish and English. Another international work of the singer will be released in June: a funk in Portuguese for Madonna’s new album.
Other Latin artists also appear on the select list of Time: J Balvin, with song “Con Altura”, a collaborative work between the Colombian singer with Spanish artist Rosalía, and Guaynaa, Puerto Rican rapper, with song “Rebota”. Check out the full list below:
